When an object, such as a gene model or a marker, has many qualifiers, they can be partitioned, so that some of them are displayed in a separate tab (see the new tab "External links" above). Organizing the qualifiers into qualifier tabs is done by the command edit qualifier_tab.

PS> edit qualifier_tab

A - add a tab;  ESC - cancel
Adding a new qualifier tab.

Name of the new tab: External links
Start listing qualifiers that will be displayed in this tab (ENTER on an empty line to finish):
Qualifier1 name: KO
There can be qualifiers for different objects (genes, markers, etc.). You can limit grouping of the qualifiers to just one type.
Type: Gene [A]nnotation; [M]arkers; [Q]TLs; ma[P]pings; [S]tudies; (ENTER - use all): A
Qualifier KO will be shown in a separate tab for type Annotation only

The qualifier can be separated only for one map set (an empty string will separate it for all map sets).
MapSetId:

Qualifier2 name (just ENTER to stop adding qualifiers): KOG
Type: Gene [A]nnotation; [M]arkers; [Q]TLs; ma[P]pings; [S]tudies; (ENTER - use all): A
Qualifier KOG will be shown in a separate tab for type Annotation only

MapSetId:

Qualifier3 name (just ENTER to stop adding qualifiers): pacid
Type: Gene [A]nnotation; [M]arkers; [Q]TLs; ma[P]pings; [S]tudies; (ENTER - use all): A
Qualifier pacid will be shown in a separate tab for type Annotation only

MapSetId:

Qualifier4 name (just ENTER to stop adding qualifiers):
QUALIFIER_TAB   QUALIFIER   QUALIFIER_TYPE   MAP_SET(ID)
External links
                KO          Annotation
                KOG         Annotation
                pacid       Annotation

DATA_VERSION updated

As the messages on screen explain, the separation of the listed qualifiers into the tabs can be done for specific object types only. For example, the screen above instructs to display the qualifiers KO, KOG and pacid in a separate tab called External links only for the gene annotation objects (type Annotation). The marker qualifiers with these names will not be affected and will be displayed together with other marker properties, as before.

The same logic is applied to displaying the qualifiers in a separate tab for a specific map set only. Provide the proper MapSetId at the prompt, or leave it blank to use the qualifier tab for all map sets.

The existing qualifier tabs can be modified by the same command edit qualifier_tab. If the qualifier tabs already present, they will be listed first:

PS> edit qualifier_tab
Some qualifiers can be placed into a separate tab on the object's property form.
Here are the existing tab names with corresponding qualifiers:

QUALIFIER_TAB   QUALIFIER   QUALIFIER_TYPE   MAP_SET(ID)
[0] External links
                KO          Annotation
                KOG         Annotation
                pacid       Annotation

A - add a tab; E -edit tab; ESC - cancel

[0] External links
[1]     KO          Annotation
[2]     KOG         Annotation
[3]     pacid       Annotation
[4]     <--Add new qualifier-->

In the example above, you can select the line [0] to edit the name of the tab.

To remove the tab or one of its qualifiers completely, change its name to an empty string.
